Henrik,

The Escati site does earn a nice income with Text Link Ads, more than Adsense... at one time I was getting $300 per month for a text link. Which I think may be how it lost its PR8. It the late 90's it was earning 100K per year on banner ads, if you can believe that... I rarely touch it these days... just too busy.

Hi Dan

Let me say it this way: if anyone offers you 31,000$, take it and smile all the way to the bank.

I would say the "value" of your site is 6-8 times the annual revenue from Adsense, and would imagine 4-7,000$ being an approximate value for the domain considering a facelift could be done to fit the theme of the blog [Thailand]

Just my 0.02$ on the matter.

Good luck in selling. :-)

I have tested appraisal services and have found them to be worthless (and laughable).

You know better than anyone the value of your domain. Some domainers buy based on current incoming links, PR, ppc traffic, others buy based on branding. There is no one model anyone can use to value all domains.

My criteria is to set my price and hold until I get that price, while earning click through income while it's parked or point it to some relevant income generator.

Ultimately you determine the value based upon how much money it will take for you to part with it and whether or not you are receiving inquiries from potential buyers. Of course you could approach someone in the market the domain used to operate in, as they may be more interested in the name, which will stack the odds in your favor of finding a serious buyer.

Best bet is to ask other long time domainers for their opinion.
